The Theater-Concession Report

POTTSVILLE, Pa.—Marty Jones, a concession-stand worker at the neighborhood AMC movie theater, was assaulted yesterday by 19-year-old Mark Strogan.
Theater sources say that Strogan ordered a Cherry Coke from Jones. When he was instead given an orange soda, Strogan became enraged and kicked the helpless vendor in the face.
"I'm not sure why I did it," Strogan told police. "It just seemed like the right thing to do. Maybe I thought that a physical display of my anger would correct the soda mixup. Obviously, it didn't."
Said Francis Mueller, the daytime manager of the theater, "This incident was tragic, but it could have been a lot worse. Thank God that Mr. Strogan didn't try to pay Marty with a crumpled-up dollar bill. Marty sometimes struggles when he tries to place old bills in the cash-register tray."
