Pseudonym F.A.Q.

Pseudonym F.A.Q.

While do some articles have a different author listed at the bottom of the page?

All editorials on AsGoodAsNews.com feature pseudonyms in their by-lines. The reason for this is that satirical editorials are not meant to explicitly express the opinions of their authors. They are frequently written in an exaggerated style, and typically express views opposite of those held by their authors. For these reasons it is necessary that editorials be "written" not by their actual authors, but instead by fictional characters whose names appear before the articles.

Why isn't it necessary to use pseudonyms for the regular news articles?

If written correctly, news satire articles do not explicitly express any opinions at all. They are to be written as if the made-up news events actually occurred, using all of the normal stylistic conventions that go along with newspaper writing. For these reasons, pseudonyms are not necessary.
