Homeless People Upset About Being Called Homeless
by: Daniel Riehs
BROOKLYN, NYHundreds of men and women picked up their homes to parade the streets of Brooklyn today to protest being referred to as homeless. "It's such a derogatory term. We prefer to be called the housing-impaired or lodging-challenged," declared Harry Lothor as he waved in the air a week-old newspaper with some scribbling on it. "Residence deficiency is a serious problem in this city, and this senseless name-calling only makes things worse."

Despite a step in the right direction, the demonstration encountered a few problems. When a bystander watching the crowd from his second-floor apartment was heard shouting, "Go home you stupid bums," Chester Juris angrily threw his carpetbag into the second-floor window.
"I shouldn't have thrown my only possession up there, but that guy just deserved it. And now he won't give my bag back. I've been living outside his apartment for two hours now, and I'm prepared to stay here as long as it takes."
"We're normal citizens just like everyone else," added Hobo Rick. "Just because we don't have a place to live doesn't mean you can call us homeless."
