Club Reminds Partygoers of Seventh-Grade Dance
NEW YORKColombia University sophomores Michael Evans and Randy Peterson thought the atmosphere of the club they visited Thursday night was exactly like that of a seventh-grade dance, the pair reported recently.
Both Biology majors in Colombia's school of General Sciences; Evans and Peterson arrived at the club around 11:00 p.m. with a few friends from their residence hall. They had initially been persuaded to make the excursion by fellow sophomore Craig Mancini, who insisted that Evans and Peterson would have a "great time."
"Things started out bad from the very beginning," Evans told reporters. "I had to pay $15 just to get in the door. How can they do thatcharge $15 for the privilege of walking though a doorway?"
Peterson had a similar first impression.
"There were probably only like 50 people inside when we got there. And all the girls were really ugly. One of them had on this stupid-looking orange shirt, and another one was kind of fat."
While the pair's friends immediately started dancing with the other club patrons, sources reported that Evans and Peterson just stood by the restrooms and talked about how lame the place was.
"Yeah, I think I heard them say something about the place reminding them of a seventh-grade dance," said Mancini. "I don't know. I was having way too much fun to pay much attention to those guys."
According to another source, Evans exact words to Peterson were. "I know what this place reminds me of. We're at a seventh-grade dance."
To which Peterson responded, "Look at Craig dancing with those girls. He looks so stupid."
