An Interview With Bill O'Reilly About Fahrenheit 9/11
Michael Moore's latest film, Fahrenheit 9/11, won the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes film festival, and became the highest-grossing documentary of all time in its opening weekend. We recently sat down and discussed the film with Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly. Here's what he had to say:
AGAN: Moore made a big deal about how President Bush never went after Osama Bin Laden for the September 11th attacks, but until recently, Moore himself said that Bin Laden should be considered "innocent until proven guilty." Can such a concept exist in the war on terror?
O'Reilly: I don't see anyone suggesting that the Iraqi people would be better off today if Saddam Hussein were still in power, so I don't even know why you're asking that question.
AGAN: Fahrenheit 9/11 mentions that Bush was responsible for evacuating the Bin Laden family from the US following September 11, but Richard Clarke has taken sole responsibility for the decision in his book. Should the matter still be discussed? Wouldn't Bush still be partly responsible due to his executive position?
O'Reilly: Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! I'm tired of all this liberal spin!
AGAN: One last question: Are there places in society for films like Moore's? Can the effect of a movie be positive even if specific facts aren't completely true?
O'Reilly: POOPIE!!!
O'Reilly's show can be seen daily on the Fox News Channel. Check your local listings for details.
