I'm Going To Drop Out Of School If Those Teachers Go On Strike Again

by: Steve Jipson*

I'm going to drop out of school if those teachers go on strike again. I mean, I consider myself to be a pretty good student. I go to class every day and always stay until the end of the last period. If those teachers want to ignore my loyalty and whine about their financial situations, then they don't deserve my support as a cooperative student.

Teachers make upwards of $20,000, and they only have to work for a few hours a day, nine months out of the year. I know tons of people who would teach for free if they were just given the chance.

But no, they have to complain. "I can't afford to feed my children," they say. "I can't believe the school district wants to close down our school and sell our students to other schools," they say. They whine and whine, not realizing that they have the best jobs in the universe.

Fortunately, I don't think the teachers actually will go on strike. I mean we're coming up on the one month anniversary of the one year anniversary of 9-11. If those teachers have any sense of patriotism they'll sign their contracts and "put up" with their stupid little luxury tax on calculators, pencils, and all forms of paper.

I really want to be going to school this October.
