I'll Betcha Ten Bucks I Can Beat Deep Junior
by: Phillips Johnson*
Those crazy Russian chess guys keep complaining about how hard it is to beat that stupid Deep Junior computer program, but I can take it. In fact, I'll betcha ten bucks I can beat Deep Junior.
You see, computers these days may know lots of chess moves, but they can't really think. I can. That's how I'm going to get 'em.
The computer's goin' to be looking for some really complicated strategy, like the German finger switch, or the Irish spatula drop, but I'm just going to randomly move my pieces around for a while.
The computer 'ill be like, "Whoa, what's goin' on here? These moves aren't part of my program."
And then, Bam! I win. The computer never saw it comin'. It was just sitting there adding up numbers and I'm able to sneak up and show it who's boss.
I won't let the stress get to me. I'm confident.
I'll betcha ten bucks I can beat Deep Junior.
