LiveWire Has Returned, Yet This Time It Fails To Fill The Void In My Heart
I was feeling quite disillusioned at the beginning of last summer. I yearned for a citrus soda that could both quench my thirst and satisfy my spirit. Well, I found such a soda in Mountain Dew LiveWire.
Last summer was a glorious experiencea giant citrus-y euphoria that seemed to blur from one LiveWire to the next. Oh, the soda!
But of course, vacations end. Sodas dry up. I went back to school in the fall, and supermarkets slowly replaced their LiveWire displays with refrigerators full of vitamin waters and low-carb energy drinks.
Orange happiness was removed from the shelves, and put in its place was the cold, hard reality of adult responsibility.
I understood this, and I accepted it, but somewhere deep in my heart I still yearned for those July evenings during which a single case of chilled LiveWire seemed to offer limitless possibilities.
Now, with summer approaching, LiveWire has once again returned to the stores. . . . But something is different.
I think it tastes the same, but it doesn't feel the same. . . .
Something is different. . . . Maybe I'm different.
